BUILDING WHAT MATTERS CAPITAL CAMPAIGN
As we reflect on the past year, we are filled with gratitude for the support and community spirit that makes the Athens-McMinn Family YMCA such a special place. When we high five a child who just learned to swim or the senior adult who tried their first class, we are inspired by the potential and purpose in all of us. We are in awe of volunteers packing food, teens developing into leaders, seniors becoming family to one another and people like you answering the call for help and making all of this possible.
Here's how your contribution to the BUILDING WHAT MATTERS CAPITAL CAMPAIGN made a major impact:
- Enhance Accessibility: We aimed to create a more inclusive and accessible YMCA by adding new ADA compliant family locker rooms and installing two new ADA lifts in key areas of the facility.
- Revitalize Facilities: We are now providing families with safe and updated locker room spaces featuring individual changing stalls and showers, modern finishes, and improved layouts.
- Protect Our Investment: Essential infrastructure updates were needed, including renovations to plumbing, electrical systems, and HVAC, originally installed in 1975. Protecting the investment into the facility by updating necessary infrastructure was a vital piece of this project.
The true power of the Y lies in the hearts of neighbors like you who believe in building a stronger community for all. Together, with friends like you, we can ensure kids, families, and seniors have the support, respect and dignity they need to thrive.
Thank you for supporting our efforts through this campaign. Our facility looks amazing!
