Choosing a quality child care provider is one of the most important decisions a parent makes. The YMCA cares for more children nationwide than any other provider. Here in Athens, we offer quality before and after school programs, summer day camps, and a nursery for members. When you choose the YMCA to serve your Child Care needs, you can trust that we will care for your children like they're one of our own.

The Athens-McMinn Family YMCA invites students in grades Pre-K through 8th to participate in our YMCA Child Care Services. The YMCA is dedicated to providing quality youth programs which has an overall goal of providing quality care in a safe, healthy, and fun atmosphere. Many activities are offered at each site for your child to participate. We operate on a child choice system. The children will be given options during activity times to choose from. We also provide healthy snacks each day.

The YMCA programs are different from routine baby-sitting because we provide a variety of supervised activities and fun-filled events. Ratios are kept low to provide more individual attention. Our staff is fun, responsible, and caring, chosen for their experience and energy. At least one staff member is certified in CPR and First Aid, and all attend on-going training and development. The YMCA Child Care Services Programs are open to all children regardless of race, color, sex, handicap, religion or national origin. The YMCA never denies anyone participation in a program due to financial restrictions. If you have need and qualify, we provide scholarships and financial aid packages.
